“I remembered her.”

“That perfectly?”

Nova’s chin trembled.

“I loved her, Aunt Tanya. She was special to me.”

The name landed somewhere deep.

“Nova,” I said softly, “who told you to keep this from me?”

She wiped both cheeks with her sleeves.
