As for me, I took the house where Sarah had suffered for so long and I turned it into something entirely new and beautiful. I founded a refuge for women who needed a safe place to go when they felt like they had nowhere else to turn.
It is not a perfect place and it is certainly not grand, but it is real and it provides the safety that my daughter deserved. I love seeing the look of relief on a woman’s face when she walks through the front door and hears the words that she is safe now.
