He referred to Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson as “an absolute socialist, if not more,” citing her response to millionaires leaving the state over progressive tax policies. “She’s like, ‘bye’ and just describe that kind of thing,” Fetterman remarked.
He also criticized New York City’s democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of driving people away with an aggressive stance against the wealthy, antisemitism, and disdain for business. Fetterman referenced Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ comment that Mamdani is “my favorite real estate agent now,” noting that people are voting with their feet by leaving high-tax, progressive-led states.
